Small Animal Abstract Submission Guidelines
PRESENTATION
All abstracts focusing on small animals and other pets in the different specializations of Veterinary Medicine will be accepted. The abstracts will be presented either as oral communication or as poster. The author can indicate his or her preference for oral / poster presentation, but the final decision will be taken by the Congress Scientific Committee. Authors will be informed of acceptance within three months following the deadline for submission. Instructions relative to oral presentations will be notified later.

Posters must be displayed in the exhibition room by their authors on the first day of the Congress November 02, 2011 before 800 hrs and taken down on November 5th when certificates will be handed out.

The Scientific Committee will determine when the review of abstracts will occur, at which time the author of such abstracts must stay next to the poster.

RULES FOR SENDING ABSTRACTS
  1. The abstracts will be analyzed by the ScientificCommittee of the Congress and response regarding the acceptance or denialof the abstracts will be sent to the authors using the e-mail addressesincluded in the abstracts. The Scientific Committee’s decision cannot beappealed.
  2. The abstracts that involve animal experimentation mustinclude, at the end, the name of the ETHICAL COMMITTEE that evaluated theabstracts, or else it will not be accepted.
  3. The summary of the abstracts must follow the format:
    • Abstracts should be written in English.
    • The abstract can be submitted maximum to the limit of 600 words.
    • All abstracts to be presented in Microsoft Word Document, on a single page - A4 size
    • Font used - Times New Roman 12, 1.5 line spacing and 3.0 cm margins.
    • Title to be mentioned in capital letters, followed by the full name of the authors, address and e-mail of the presenter, whose name must be in bold. When pertinent, the name of the institution must be included in the footnotes.
    • Summary: must include a brief introduction, objectives, methods, results, discussion and conclusions. The case reports must include introduction, description of the case, discussion and conclusions. This subdivision must be bold within the text.
    • Do not include tables, graphs, figures or bibliographical references.
    • Thanks can be included above the footnotes.
    • All abstracts to be submitted online
POSTERS RULES
  1. The posters must be I meter x 1 meter, and will be hungin a specific place pre-determined by the Scientific Committee.
  2. Segmented panels/posters will not be permitted.
  3. The posters must contain the same basic text of thesummary, with the use of figures, graphs and tables, as well asreferences, so as to facilitate visual communication.
  4. The posters displayed during the event, or those thatare not with the presenter at the specific time stipulated for discussion,are subject to cancellation of the certificate.
